Ways You Can Support

Your club or organisation can become involved in a number of ways:

  • Chat to your local NSW Government youth service providers and uncover the issues facing young people in your area.
  • Examine the most recent figures on youth homelessness, family violence and youth suicide in your town and immediate region.
  • Engage with schools and police to hear the experiences they are having with assisting 10 to 17 year olds in need of desperate support.
  • Lobby your local NSW Member of Parliament to establish a Ruby’s home near you.
  • Alert everyone you speak to about Rotary’s Vulnerable Youth Project and how the establishment of a Ruby’s home would greatly assist young people and families facing difficulties.
  • Invite a member of the Rotary Vulnerable Youth Project’s Governance Board to address your Club on the success of the Ruby’s model.
  • Your Club could greatly assist by donating to the Vulnerable Youth Project now by clicking the ‘donations button’.

Ruby’s homes and the model of support assists in reuniting families, stopping youth’s slipping into homelessness and in a number of cases taking their own lives.

Currently the Project is focussed on Rotary District 9705 in Southern NSW and the ACT but already Rotary Clubs across the State are being encouraged to introduce the Ruby’s model into their area.

For more details get in touch and a representative of the Vulnerable Youth Governance Board will respond to you.

“Children are our future, and it’s up to us to make sure they don’t get left behind.”
